Brief Description of Research Interest:

My research interests fall at the interface between chemistry and biology. I have been trained in peptide chemistry during PhD studies, and currently as a postdoc I am developing tools for genetic code expansion. With both, I can combine chemical and biological synthesis of proteins using nonstandard amino acids. I am interested in protein and polymer synthesis, in developing methods for enhancing synthesis quality and yields while at the same time enabling the synthesis of longer proteins with more exotic chemistries. These polymers/proteins may have biotechnological and/or biomedical applications.
