Brief Description of Research Interest:
 

My graduate research focused on the cellular and molecular basis of olfactory imprinting in Drosophila. I demonstrated that the olfactory behavior of Drosophila is not stereotyped and can be modified by age, environmental cues and internal physiological state.  Separately, I showed that odor coding properties in olfactory sensory neurons are not rigidly fixed or inborn.

At present my research project seeks to understand the mechanism that link olfactory perception with physiological decision in general, and with aging in particular.
