Brief Description of Research Interest:

I am a developmental neuroscientist with a strong interest in understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of neural circuits assembly and function. During my PhD in Dr. Niccolò Zampieri's lab at the Max-Delbrück-Centrum in Berlin, I studied the spinal locomotor circuits that control limb movements using mouse genetics, viral and anatomical tracing techniques as well as behavioral assays, and uncovered four interneuron subtypes with roles in left-right limb coordination. Building on my expertise in circuits development, I am currently working on retinal networks in Dr. Yi-Rong Peng's lab at the University of California Los Angeles, exploiting state-of-the-art omic tools in order to elucidate genetic programs that define cell-type specification and connectivity.
