Brief Description of Research Interest :
My research focuses on how environmental risk factors and neuroinflammation influence the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). I am particularly interested in understanding how metal homeostasis within the brain changes throughout the disease progression, and if these changes influence susceptibility to environmental exposures.
I use both in vitro and in vivo models to assess endpoints related to neuroinflammation and AD. I employ a variety of techniques including RT-qPCR, Western blots, ICP-MS, and IF-Imaging to assess changes in metal transport dynamics across a variety of brain regions and cell types.
