Brief Description of Research Interest :
I am a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCLA, specializing in biomechanics with a focus on Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a rare genetic disorder, starting in January 2024. I am part of the UCLA Bioscientist of Tomorrow program, which aims to develop future leaders in the biosciences through advanced training and research opportunities. I have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering. As I entered academia, I found my passion for helping others in the field of health research, as I always had a strong desire to positively impact people's lives worldwide. With a multidisciplinary background in biomedical, materials science, and mechanical engineering, I am motivated to share a multidimensional point of view in health-related research areas. My Ph.D. research focused on the development of treatments for cardiovascular engineering, specifically involving cardiac nano-biohybrid systems, enhancement of cardiomyocyte maturation via electrical stimulation, and the integration of small-scale actuators with vascular guidewires. On the other hand, my master’s degree focused on bone regeneration specialized in biodegradable scaffolds. My special expertise includes material/mechanical characterization, cell culturing, animal studies, protein/gene expression, microscopy, drug delivery, tissue engineering, biomaterials, and 3D printing. Currently, I am combining my engineering skills with interdisciplinary research in a genetics lab environment, focusing on rare diseases like OI. My life goal is to make a lasting impact in research, creating innovative solutions to improve lives worldwide.
