Brief Description of Research Interest:

I got my Ph.D. from Purdue University in December 2018, where I studied the modulation of host cellular pathways (e.g. actin cytoskeleton and ubiquitination) by Legionella pneumophila effector proteins in Dr. Zhao-Qing Luo's lab. Legionella pneumophila, a Gram negative bacterial pathogen, is the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease - a severe pneumonia-like disease.

After graduation, I joined the Dr. Sabine Ehrt's lab at Weill Cornell Medicine as a postdoctoral associate. I am interested in a human bacterial pathogen - Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is the leading infectious killer in the world, causing ~1.7 million deaths each year. Antibiotic treatment of tuberculosis is available, but relapse of tuberculosis after antibiotic treatment is still a big issue. I am currently studying the host immune mediators that are involved in the relapse of tuberculosis using mouse infection model.
